Love Annually!

Let me emphasize, I am not against receiving or giving gifts on Valentines - but I just believe it should not be a day that signifies a relationship. I feel sorry for all the couples that panic around the arrival of the day. It is as if they are forced to do something as it is pretty much expected that if you're in a relationship, you would DO SOMETHIN! What meaning does it really hold for anyone?

Des: Why dun u believe in it anymore?
Me: Coz it's a wasteful day of time, resources, energy and efforts. Everyday shld be valentines. Why shld this particular day be any significant? Just coz everyone's pretendin they care and so shld u? I just believe it's over commercialized.
For many of us, though, Valentine's Day only pretends to celebrate what we like about love while actually undermining it. True romance comes unscheduled, unruly, "a madness most discreet," quoth Romeo. Overtime, as it ripens into devotion, still it improvises, a favor rendered, a sudden kiss, a private joke, flowers for no reason. Its expression is the very opposite of the fretful, "pre-order now, or be left with drugstore chocolates" connivances that the day promotes. For those who feel well loved, every day, of course, is Valentine's. For the rest, no card can console. The minute it feels like a duty, it has lost its purpose. "Love sought is good," Shakespeare observed, "but given unsought is better." - TIME
My sentiments exactly. But still thanks for the Godivas, I thoroughly enjoyed them... perhaps you can keep them coming everyday ;)
