The Race

The other day I was reading the latest issue of the TIME magazine, in which there was an article showcasing "the Clintons" effort to win over the Iowa state in their presidential campaign; and coincidentally a close friend from the States called and we embarked on our much heated political debate. He's a Republican, while I'm a Liberal but frankly speaking I dont give a hoot about American politics. Thus we ended the conversation with him having the last word:
"America is not ready for a Woman and neither a N***er!"

Surprisingly I had the same view not so long ago, but given the desperation felt in America for a change, after 8 f***in long years under an incompetent leadership, that I started toying with the idea that the 44th American president would be a lady or even a dark skinned fellow.

Perhaps another time! Maybe we'll have both someday... Hmmm Madam Condoleezza Rice???

The Asian Century

I did not know that I would fall in love with Asia the way I have. Despite not having extensively toured it, based on what I have seen in a handful of countries, I love everything the continent has to offer. The color, the taste, the culture, the history, the hospitality, the buzz, the chaos...

" The order in Chaos"

I love that the people here are gettin affluent, there is a rush to succeed, to get things done. Everybody is hurrying to improve their standard of living, and enjoyin the newfound freedom and materialism.
Along with the success has come a sense of identity. People are really owning up to their culture, their traditions, their roots. There is a sense of belonging. Things cannot get better than this (figuratively) as this place offers rich cultures and hundreds of years of history.
Nobody is running away to distant lands anymore. People are making the most of what they have now and here, and just thriving to make their own place in their own lands. Wonderful seeing the West coming this way and not the other way around. This is the place of opportunities now, we are finally being embraced like there was no tomorrow.
Cant believe I am in the amidst of this transition. Just beautiful to see the blend of East and the West. So glad to be living here in this Era - ERA of the ASIANS. As a friend of mine would say GOOD STUFF!!
